About Midwinter Furniture

Brian Midwinter

Brian was born and bred in Norfolk and currently lives with his wife and young family in Harleston. Originally working day release from Norfolk Training Services and based at a local Cabinet Maker in Ditchingham, Brian qualified in Furniture Making, City & Guilds in 1994.  Thereafter he became a full-time employee of Three Bells Furniture, accruing over 25 years of service and experience in restoring and making furniture.  Working with a range of natural hardwoods such as oak, ash, cherry walnut and beech; softwoods and composites such as veneered MDF and birch ply. Brian has created a diverse range of bespoke pieces for discerning homes and business all over the UK.  This includes fitted furniture, dining tables and chairs, cabinets, bookcases all in a range of finishes – to the bespoke requirements of the individual customer.

Midwinter Furniture

In 2018 Brian created his own brand and business – ‘Midwinter Furniture’ based at Pulham Market in Norfolk where he continues to turn peoples ideas into reality.  He achieves this with close dialogue with the customer which includes initial sketches to develop the scheme into a CAD-based detailed design.  Sample swatches can further aid visualisation and proportions of the finished pieces.  Specialising in the ever-popular modern contemporary fitted furniture, Brian also manufactures reproduction pieces, durable repairs and sympathetic antique restoration.  Elegant and simple storage solutions which can make use of awkward spaces that might otherwise be wasted or used inefficiently.  Creating bold, statement pieces with the use of contrasting wood grain and adjacent spray-painted surfaces – Midwinter Furniture can bring your design ideas to life.
